Adult Weekly Art Workshop: Underpainting & Sgraffito Painting Term 3, 2025

The focus in Term 3 is to explore a subject that inspires you or immerse yourself in a vibrant world of color experimentation. Participants can draw inspiration from other artists or tap into their own emotions while applying acrylic painting techniques on watercolor paper or canvas.

Throughout the course, students will experiment with applying paint on the surface, building layers and scratching through to reveal the underlying hues. In addition to the experimentation they will explore colour mixing, developing a deeper understanding of painting techniques and composition. You can choose an artistic style as a starting point or embark on a series of experimental processes to spark creativity.

By exploring these techniques, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your own unique style. If this artistic journey doesn’t resonate with you, you also have the option to pursue a Personal Painting Project with personalized artistic guidance.

This course involves 5 consecutive workshops in your choice of class time. Please see the class time and dates below.

Wednesday 23, 30 July, 6, 13 and 20 August 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm 

Saturday   26 July and 2, 9, 16 and 23 August 9:30 am - 11:30 am
