Term 3, explores colour and its application to create an atmosphere within a blurred composition, using acrylic paints. By experimenting with paint application, students will learn to fashion paint to achieve an image that explores a mood. The composition may be purely abstract or figurative. Experimental techniques can include sponging, finger painting, palate knives, scraping, mixed media using pastels and charcoal.

The very first session will focus on the possible blurring techniques that can be applied to your painting.

What to Bring:

You are asked to bring a colour image with the colours that appeal to you. This will be your starting point where you will capture a blurred painted new composition. This is where colour and techniques in blurring the visual representation meet.

Throughout the workshops, you’ll:

· Experiment with applying paint in layers to create depth and vibrancy

· Use acrylic paint in an intentional experimental manner

· Explore colour mixing to strengthen your understanding of hue and harmony

· Analyse the composition to unlock new ways of building engaging artworks.

This process may lead to a major painting composition or the beginnings of a series of works. You can draw inspiration from other artists who have explored these methods or develop your own personal symbolism and visual language.

For those who prefer a more independent approach, you also have the option to work on a Personal Painting Project with tailored guidance to support your creative journey.
